Who We Are:
Westminster Presbyterian Church is a part of the Presbyterian Church (USA) in the Presbytery of East Iowa. Located in Cedar Rapids, our congregation is made up of about 135 members, covering multiple backgrounds. We are a leader in providing ongoing food for the hungry through the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, We partner with startup congregations in need of a place to worship. On Sunday mornings, we worship at 10 a.m. in our historic Sanctuary in a service that combines traditional with more contemporary music.
Cedar Rapids, Westminster Part-time Maintenance
Westminster Presbyterian Church seeks a part-time maintenance person. This staff person will maintain the church building, fixtures, equipment and grounds to ensure a safe and clean environment for effective ministry. The position is up to 10 hours a week with a competitive hourly wage. Please respond to personnel@crwpc.org with a resume and references.
Essential Functions:

Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs throughout the facility as skills allow.

Perform light repairs and routine maintenance to electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.

Replace ceiling panels as needed.

Report special cleaning and/or building repair needs to the Property Committee.

Do a weekly “walk through” of the building to check light bulbs, air filters, door handles, toilets, etc.

Consult the “To Do” list in the office weekly to perform the maintenance tasks noted on that list.

Trim trees and bushes as needed on the church grounds.

Keep sidewalks, lawn, and parking areas free of trash and litter.

Upkeep and repair of power tools and small equipment.

On call for any maintenance emergencies or clean-up situations.
Other Responsibilities:

Attend monthly meetings of the Property Committee

Other duties as assigned by the Head of Staff
Qualifications

Desired High School diploma or GED
-
Knowledge of and experience with routine maintenance procedures

No physical limitations or restrictions.
